What is "Chanakya Writes" ?

Chanakya Writes is new blog started by Gayatri, Divya and me. Now the question begets, "Why do we need another blog". To be frank, we might have as well worked on our current blogs or simply revived them. But the total lackadaisical attitude towards blogging and failure to make a significant impact hasn't dampened our enthusiasm towards starting a new blog.

Introductions!

" Great writer's suffer from ' A writer's block ' after they deliver a masterpiece, but we, we are different - we had symptoms right at the beginning" said a wise guy..

We bribed him to be a part of this endeavor. Thus started this journey where three individuals who at some point in time had spent time with each other -- decided today that it's time they draw all their phone conversations on a variety of issues on paper.. ( Oops , did I say paper when we are in a world where a pen and paper is replaced with laser keyboards and Internet ) ..

So here it goes... As the camera rolls, the curtain opens ... lets meet the people who have promised to kick a** this time by vocalizing their thoughts!

Ladies and Gentleman,

Let me introduce you to the 3 people who have equivocally promised that they would put pen to paper and write - write about the world - daily events, politics, sports, religion, spirituality and causes that are close their hearts...

One of them is a person with immense experience with places. He has toured the world and had some ever lasting bond with a few species that would make Menaka Gandhi very happy. A sharp character who thinks its his duty to be informed about the world doings and have a "point of view" of anything and everything that happens in the world from Haiti to Sri Lanka. True to his bearings he studies mathematics and uses it to solve world / people's credit issues.

Another person who has promised to write ( after she finds time of working/ reading and obsessively flossing) is a guest to this country. She is of an easy going nature and known for her " I am interested in everything and Wow! everything is fun". She feels very strongly on a lot of issues and this would be a good platform to hear her talk.

The last is yours truly -- With 3 books to her credit, a column in the Times of India since the past 8 years in addition to an incredible short story collection, GI requires no introduction. Now did I hear some murmur from loyal TOI readers and bibliophiles! Ok fine, the 3 books are still in her mind, only the others in this author group have been privileged to the TOI column in our phone conversations and the short stories are all anecdotes which she just has to put into paper. And have we even started to talk about her plans for a truly equal society....

A big round of applause and we shall hear more from these guys !
